One of the highest risers among the largest companies in Derby, owing to record-breaking turnover in 2018.

Telecommunications specialist A1 Comms has been ranked the 43rd best business in Derby Telegraph’s Top 200 Businesses 2019.

Judged on turnover figures and contribution to Derbyshire’s economy through job creation and support, A1 Comms climbed 11 places higher than its 2018 ranking (54th).

While the factors contributing to A1 Comms’ rise are many, the record-breaking level of sales taken over Black Friday last year was one of the most significant. That, alongside the expansion of its contract voice and SIM only options through partnerships with networks Lebara, O2 and Voxi.

Paul Sisson, CEO of A1 Comms, said, “In 2018 our business saw strong growth yet again as customers look for value online in ever larger numbers. Our online brands www.buymobiles.net and www.affordablemobiles.co.uk breaking sales records over the Black Friday weekend when we averaged an order every 6 seconds!

“A1 Comms Business division also continued to deliver strong growth, serving many new and established Derbyshire companies on both business mobile fleets and increasingly helping companies switch from traditional copper towards more cost-effective and flexible VOIP Office Telephone Systems.

“The B2B division continues to be rated very highly by our existing business clients with a Trustpilot rating of 4.9/5, more details can be found at www.a1comms.co.uk.”

The launch of A1 Comms’ mobile phone trade-in service also delivered fruitfully, opening further streams of revenue that contributed to its significant year-on-year rise, while giving its customers an easy and convenient solution to turn their old mobiles into money.

Entering the top 50 ranked Derbyshire businesses puts A1 Comms in good company, alongside enterprises that includes the likes of Rolls Royce, Toyota and East Midlands Trains.

A1 Comms aims to climb even higher on the list of Derbyshire’s most successful businesses, while continuing to deliver on great service, a priority that remains the very cornerstone of how it operates as an enterprise.
