Derbyshire telecoms duo move higher up the ranks in management roles, on the back of over 25 years’ combined service and top performance.

James Kay, 32, recently promoted to Operations Manager, will be working across the customer support and fulfillment departments to improve efficiency and the customer experience.

Craig Goodman, 31, newly appointed Outbound Sales Manager, will be leading the Outbound Sales Team with the task of expanding telesales activity, delivering bespoke and competitive offers to new and existing customers.

Both Kay and Goodman are to report into Matt Way, Head of Operations and Delivery, who commented on the promotions, saying, “James is one of our most experienced members of the A1 Comms team. His ability, knowledge and hard work have not gone unrecognised.

“As for Craig, he has been with A1 Comms since mobile phones had aerials and has been an integral part of many of our achievements here. His promotion is well-deserved, as a testament to his committed service and ability.

“James and Craig’s new positions pave the way for further growth within our operations departments, as we continue to build on the success of the whole A1 Comms Group.”

Kay undertakes his new role following 12 years at the telecoms group. Steadily climbing his way up the ranks, he began his career with A1 Comms in the sales department and has worked with several areas of the business during his tenure so far.

Originally from Matlock, Derbyshire, Kay commented saying: “I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into my new role and continuing to build on our success as a business. I’m over the moon I got the promotion and so pleased to have such a great group of people around me.”

Goodman started life at A1 Comms as a part-time sales assistant, progressing onto a retail store management position. Then, in 2008, he built an outbound sales team from the ground up, even completing the business’ first ever online mobile phone upgrade sale, through one of A1 Comms’ consumer brands,

On his promotion, Goodman said: “I’ve worked my way up the ladder here and I’m really proud of how far I’ve come. A1 Comms is an amazing place to work and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. It’s an exciting time ahead for everyone.”

Kay and Goodman lead teams based at A1 Comms’ headquarters in Alfreton, Derbyshire, alongside an outbound contact centre on Pride Park, Derby.

The promotions come on the back of a strong 2018 for A1 Comms, winning EE Best Retailer for the third year, as well as EE Best Service Award for the first time. The telecoms company also announced a new partnership with O2 recently, increasing its consumer offering to all four major UK networks.
